Testosterone is by far the most important sex hormone in men. This power hormone has a major influence on a man's erectile function and libido. If testosterone levels are too low, symptoms such as erectile dysfunction and other complaints can occur. Low testosterone levels in the body can be caused by hormonal imbalances, kidney failure and dialysis treatments. However, this hormone, produced in the male gonads, is particularly important for male sex drive: Testosterone is by far the most important sex hormone in men. It has numerous tasks and plays an essential role in the development of sexual desire.

7 signs of testosterone deficiency:

  1. Decreasing desire for sex
  2. No desire for sports
  3. fatigue
  4. performance decline
  5. Physical weakness
  6. erectile dysfunction
  7. Increasing abdominal circumference

    Increase testosterone with zinc

Zinc is a mineral that is often associated with testosterone-boosting effects. If you are zinc deficient, you should take 25-30 mg of elemental zinc per day. "Elemental zinc" here means the weight of the mineral itself, not the entire chemical compound that is designed to facilitate absorption in the body. Zinc should be taken with meals. At higher doses above 800 mg, you should not take it with minerals such as magnesium or calcium, as the substances will then compete with each other for absorption in the body. However, at a lower dose, you can take the minerals together.

    Testosterone deficiency - what now?

An existing testosterone deficiency can usually be easily remedied. Depending on the individual's hormone levels, a change in lifestyle is often sufficient. For example, with a balanced diet, exercise/physical training and necessary rest breaks. This way you are doing something good for your health at the same time. Drug therapy can also be useful. In addition to increasing sexual desire and performance, the treatment often leads to a significant improvement in quality of life.
