Inulin is a polysaccharide that occurs in different plants, but can be found particularly in the root of Zichorie (Cichorium Intybus). The roots are harvested and an extraction is subjected to win the inulin. The extract is then cleaned and used in powder form or as a liquid extract for different applications. The use of zichorie goes far back. Already in ancient Egypt, the zichorie was used both as a food and for medical purposes.
