bifidobacteria

What are bifidobacteria?

Bifidobacteria are bacteria that colonize both the intestines and the vagina. They are lactic acid producers and are therefore "good bacteria." There are many different strains, many of which belong to the group of probiotics. These can help treat intestinal problems such as constipation, diarrhea and flatulence.

Bifidobacteria are also used to cleanse the vaginal and intestinal flora. Humans first come into contact with bifidobacteria as infants through breast milk. The bifidobacteria convert sugar into lactic and acetic acid in the intestine. This acidifies the intestinal environment, which means that pathogens, i.e. "bad bacteria", are less able to settle and multiply. These "bad bacteria" include salmonella and coli bacteria, for example.

At the same time, bifidobacteria promote the proliferation of other “good bacteria”.

Bifidobacteria also strengthen the body's immune system through a variety of mechanisms. For a healthy body and good well-being, it is therefore important to have sufficient bifidobacteria as part of the intestinal flora. Bifidobacteria can be found in conventional foods such as yoghurt, kefir or cheese. These bacteria are also present in increased amounts in sauerkraut and pickles, which is related to the fermentation process during production. Probiotics are recommended to ensure you consume a sufficient amount of bifidobacteria. With 60 billion colony-forming units, Dailybacs contain a large amount of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. Our Dailybacs contain the bifidobacteria strains Bifidobacterium animalis , Bifidobacterium infantis , Bifidobacterium lactis , Bifidobacterium breve and Bifidobacterium longum . The number combinations behind the bifidobacteria provide information about the number of bacteria contained. You can find more information about the three most important bacterial strains in Dailybacs here !

In case of severe complaints concerning the gastrointestinal tract, you should always consult a specialist.
